Was there actually an edition of TOTP broadcast on this date?
On the Database it lists 2 performances (both of which exist from Disco - Tony Christie and Middle Of The Road). Were these just inserts, and if not what else was on this show??

Are you saying this insert exists at the BBC? Difficult to believe, given the non-appearance (AFAIK) of "Fireball". That would have been re-used now, surely, if it was there (unless it's mute on the tape or something). S.

That thread is very confused. I am still wondering if somebody is claiming this Deep Purple performance survives, or not, or what? Seems to me that tape is an insert for edition tx 2/12/71. The DP performance on this was not in-studio, so presume this insert contained Pan's People or audience dancing to this record, or similar. S.

Yes, it's an insert tape. I suspect the date of 23rd refers to when it was dubbed (for ZDF). It contains Tony Christie and Middle Of The Road. No Deep Purple though, sorry.

One last query about the Database - 13-3-69 only lists 4 acts as well. No shows listed for 18-9-69 or 20-11-69 (I assume there were no shows on these dates??)

So despite Mr Seaton's patient repeating of his "confirmation listing" (?) for us mere mortals, he is wrong. Cheers, S.

how do you know that there might have been a show on this date and it's been wiped, and the records are simply missing. besides, why would an insert tape be lodged in the TOTP show database i am a mortal too

what would be fastinating would be scans of all the surviving PASB's so we can read them ourselves
for the extra info that we don't know
