With all the posts mentioning otherwise missing TOTP clips being featured in editions of Pop Quiz, I wondered what exists of Pop Quiz in the Beeb's archives.
I have seen odd clips over the years, but wondered if the whole run existed complete.
Perhaps if Andrew Martin is looking in, he would be able to tell us.

They all exist in the archive - and all but one (which has a technical fault which will take a bit longer to fix) have been transferred to digital tape, too.

Thanks for confirming that Andrew - it's good to know that these clips that people have been talking about are still around.
I wouldn't mind seeing the programmes again, but think it's unlikely that they will ever be repeated, unless a Satellite channel picks them up.
Regards,
Mark

I don`t believe there are any rare clips shown on Pop Quiz that we haven`t seen before at least twice. I remember seeing the usual Rod Stewart, ELO, Sweet & Slade clips etc that have been shown on TOTP2 at least once or twice.

They used to show old promo clips with the closing “Pop Quiz” credits, I remember seeing “Strawberry Fields Forever” for the first time that way but it was in black & white, “I feel fine“ gym version was another definitely shown. Also the earlier Bowie promo for “Space Oddity” when he looked more like Tommy Steele than Ziggy Stardust, how come I’ve never seen that version since?

I am sure this was from the ' Love you till Tuesday ' promo film made by Bowie's manager in the late 1960s . It was used by TOTPS in 75 during the re-release of Space Oddity, after BBC had wiped the accoustical version Bowie used for his 1969 TOTPS 'Oddity' appearances. Love you till tuesday may have had a DVD release quite recently ? but not sure.

If by chance you can playback these tapes (Andrew Martin)? You will find the Jean Genie 'Live' performance from TOTP's 4.1.73 as a question clip! This was from a Pop Quiz programme circa 1982.

...and the Pink Floyd "See Emily Play" TOTP studio appearance clip! It's never surfaced anywhere else since sadly.

One edition of Pop Quiz featured the specially produced TOTP film for Rod Stewart & The Faces' YOU CAN MAKE ME DANCE SING OR ANYTHING from 1974. Mike Reid incorrectly stated that it had never been broadcast before. In the TOTP database it is down as no longer existing.

Another clip used over the closing credits was The Who performing "I Can See For Miles" on Pop Goes The Sixties which I had on bootleg video.
Im intrigued by the supposed screening of the Floyds TOTP clip of "Emily". I'm a huge Syd Barrett fan and its definately not in circulation amongst Syd fans. Most of the clips mentioned in this thread have appeared on bootleg, but not the Floyd clip. I'm absolutely certain that if that clip was broadcast then it would be in circulation, so why it isn't is another mystery in itself...
