I remember watching the tea-time Ask Aspel request show in 1971 and he played a clip of Maggie May, not sure if it was the John Peel one or not. It could have been one of the missing ones in which the Faces all mimed to each others instruments.
Does anyone know if the Faces Cindy Incidentally exists from TOTP? I seem to recall a clip of the song at the end of Pop Quiz in the late 80s?

I`ve seen a 'still' from The Faces February 1973 TOTP performance of "Cindy Incidently", but as far as a complete performance goes, no edition in which they performed this track survives in the BBC archives and i`ve seen no evidence to suggest that even an 'insert' performance survives anywhere.

Thanks for this info guys, very much appreciated. A couple of notes and questions:
Can anyone shed any light on the 'Cindy' performance featured at the end Pop Quiz in the early nineties? It certainly wasn't the one I remember on TOTP.
Does anyone have any idea if the Faces' performance of 'Stay With Me' from TOTP still exists? I remember the song was on 2 or 3 times and on one edition Jimmy Saville mentioned the Sounds For Saturday show (broadcast on 1/4/72) saying something like "remember to watch the Faces in their own show on BBC2 in April". Was the 'Stay With Me' performance on TOTP lifted from the Sounds For Saturday show?
I know of one Disco 2 performance from 1971 that is in circulation, there was another one about a year earlier. Does anyone have any details?
I clearly remember seeing a trailer for TOTP Xmas 1971 featuring Rod performing Maggie May in a yellow suit (stills by Harry Goodwin exist of this). Does this mean that the clip could still exits somewhere in the archives? I am aware of 3 different performances of this song, including the John Peel one. Does anyone know of any others? Also, does anyone know why there appears to be no audience on the existing JP one as shown on the Xmas 71 show? (Although I have seen a rough bootlegged version of the same performance that has audience dancing inserts in it!)
Finally, I have an audio cassette of You Wear It Well (featuring live vocals) from Xmas Day 1972. Originally I had the whole show, but in my foolish youth ditched it and just kept Rod. Is there any chance of Xmas Day existing somewhere?
Thanks!

I`m afraid that Xmas 1972 pt:1 on 25/12/72 has been wiped, but luckilly Xmas 1972 pt:2 on 28/12/72 still exists as a full edition featuring classics like T.Rex "Metal Guru", Slade "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" & Alice Cooper "School`s Out", which have all been regularly shown over the years. A performance of Rod Stewarts "You Wear It Well" does exist as an 'insert' probably from the 17/8/72 edition in the same way as Roxy Music`s "Virginia Plain" survives from 24/8/72. This is the only known surviving performance of that particular track that i know about.
