With all the interest in Cream lately. Would be interested to know if this was a BBC prod and when this was first transmitted? also does it only exist in 50 minute form as part of a documentary for the Omnibus series?

H You'll find comments on the broadcast further below. As someone has already mentioned, all these posts about TOTP running orders has put the real notices down the order!

the orig transmission was on the 5th Jan 1969 it was a BBC production, though tony Palmer also had a film cameraman in the front and this show was exteneded and re editted for cinema and overseas use.

Thanks Mathew. I had thought there was about two and half hours of it in one form but have never confirmed that rumour.

Thanks Mathew. I had thought there was about two and half hours of it in one form but have never confirmed that rumour. I would say each peformace was about 75 minutes and at th etime the BBC filme dall of it so yes 2 & half hours was shot but how much exists now is anybodys guess. Id love to know what was on the 16mm B&W TR that was used for the rock n roll years for a start. Mat

I missed the recent BBC transmission of the Cream farewll concert. Can anyone confirm it was from an original video tape and not the film recording which is on the DVD. If so I hope the BBC will repeat and issue a DVD taken from the video tape.
