Okay, hands up then.... Who's seen the Beatles' Granada footage 62-5 that has escaped?
The thought of 11 minutes of Beatles at the Cavern in 1962 has sent me into near hysterical anticipation

Bascially, the raw footage from the Fabs TV appearences, (including the famed Cavern session) have surfaced and are currently doing the rounds. So what you'll get is full length, unclipped performances from the likes of "People and Places" including the full 17 minute interview with Ken Dodd. But, as said before, the highlight for me, is the raw footage accompanying "Some Other Guy" which has a plethora of cutaways and other footage from the rear and side of the Cavern. Arguably, the most important Beatles' footage to surface in years!

I've wanted to know specifically which of their early tv exists for a long time. Thy did quite a lot of People And Places but i'm not sure which were kept. Any help appreciated. So stuff does leak out of Granada after all! Will wonders never cease?

Is this an "official" leak, or a pure, true leak?

Who knows, but it certainly must have come from an insider. Apple would have had access to the footage for the Anthology and given that the so-called "Director's Cut" has escaped anything is possible

Where has this just "surfaced" then?
I've seen the Doddy appearance before and some the early Cavern stuff... but I wasn't aware of any TV show recently on The Beatles so just interested to know how this has "just" been seen.
Thanks,
Mark

I knew some of Granada's Beatles material survived but was never certain how much. I'd never heard of any raw footage before; is this something that has been previously thought missing but came to light during Granada's transfer of their archive?
Can anyone provide a list of what material has surfaced (and indeed what in total survives of shows made by Granada featuring The Beatles)? For example, do all the People & Places appearances survive in the whole editions or are they just the Beatles segments in existence?
I suspect the Mark Lewisohn book omits listing some of this material, as good as that publication is. For instance, the only Cavern material to supposedly have survived was Some Other Guy - any additional stuff shot at that venue must surely be a new discovery.

Well deduced Laurence!
It's well possible that since the digitisation of the Granada stock and the easily available material (check itn.com) that this is the result. Like the Pathe material, much has come to light since, and I believe there will be more to come!
