This is a very long shot, but something jogged my memory over Christmas about a series I saw when I was younger, but I have no idea what it was, apart from the following:
It was a comedy. It was on ITV (probably made by Thames as I vaguely remember the logo) Referred to 'the big apple' and had the theme tune of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik - which was hummed by one or more of those in the series.
I am pretty sure that it was early 80s as I remember the lousy wardrobe of the time, but cannot be more specific. If someone can put me out of my misery I would be eternally grateful.

"The Happy Apple" - a sitcom with Leslie Ash was made by Thames, was early 80s & had Eine Kleine Nachtmusik as the theme music (in a jazzed up version with lyrics)
Sounds like that.

THAT'S IT - THANKS. I thought it was an advertising agency, but wasn't sure if I was muddling it with Me and My Girl. And to think, I had read every entry in the RT guide to TV comedy up to Hancock so far, so was that close!!
