Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents, Went through a few VHS tapes the other day and came across most of Rock goes to college with The Specials. Just wondered what the archive status of this is, as I thought if this kind of show would get a dvd release like The Old Grey Whistle Test dvds. Kind regards and thanks Steve

Pretty sure they all exist. I don't have the Kal guide to hand but I think i've looked that up before and they're present and correct. Lots of potential for DVD release there, same as with In Concert / Sight And Sound In Concert.

Pity the Stranglers' (un-tx'd) Guildford Uni recording was junked though!

Was the abandoned Stranglers gig junked? I thought one track was used on "Sounds of the 70's". Does anyone know?

Sorry - messed that up! I meant to say it was - 'Hanging Around' - followed by Hugh Cornwell's infamous comment - "Guildford University never represented Guildford, we hate wanker elitist audiences so f**k off" at which point the band abandoned the gig.

[
It was Hanging Around that was shown on "Sound's From The Seventies". If it is not from "Rock Goes To College" then where else is it from. Point of interest, Hugh asked if they all got their Crackerjack pencils and later told them to stick it up their you know what!

Many thanks Mr. Piper, Gary C, Mark Andy et all for the information. Would be nice to see some of these out commercially. It seems only Queen so far are having a ball on the dvd release front. Might see you all at MBW 11.
Best and Thanks again.
Steve
