We've seen much use of the pretty good archive of BBC lunchtime childrens TV from the 1950 - 1975 period. However I understand some material originally made on film has been junked. This would appear to include an episode of 'Tales from the riverbank' circa 1967 I recall where Hammy Hamster went on a trip in a hot air balloon. So too the less remembered of Michael Grafton Robinson (Q3)s production 'Egbert Nosh'. 'Crystal Tipps' seems to survive complete. However nothings been seen of the former since. The central character was a bowler hatted city worker who I recall absent mindedly setting off to work forgetting he still had headphones from Hi fi on, dragging this behind him. I also recall his house used to have a face unbeknown to him, which appeared in alarm when he set off for work. the house would follow him, then every time he peered round would settle inert (face disappearing) until he set off again. Of course question arises as to why Egbert Nosh didn't wonder how the house suddenly kept reappearing in different locations, but this was part of the surreal joke. It was an animation produced about 1970 I think before 'Tipps'.
