Audience were a British progrssive rock group from late 60's early 70's who opened for Led Zeppelin more than once. Like other bands of there genre they weren't commercially mega sucsessful. They had a few very nice albums (lyrically v.clever)Their best work was undoubtedly an album titled 'House On The Hill'. Howard Worth was the main songwriter ,also Bobby Keys (of Rolling Stones fame) unmistakable sax is present. Well this is all I know of Audience. I would really appreciate if anyone out there knows of any live audio recordings exist, or dare I even dare think T.V. appearances?

seems to be quite an obscure group, if there are any TV apearences they were probably in continental Europe, so maybe some of our european members can help?

Do you know which (if any) TV shows Audience appeared on, Richard? If so, it may be easier to determine if these survive or not. Always interested in lesser-known groups from the late '60s.

Thanks Lawrence, The short answer is no I've checked a bit and to be honest have never so much as smelt aTV appearance, but that does n't mean to say it never happened, even if it does n't survive

Just to qualify that, in the midst of late night lucidness(lucidity to some) I really don't know whats going on back there, what discoveries may have been made, so , having only gained such an interest in the value of the visual archieve( I know I've just spelt that wrong) i just thought I'd throw there to the world of the informed
It's too hot tonight too Am enjoy ing the said band

Yes, I was going through certain pop prgrammes of the right era and I can't off-hand think of Audience's name appearing. They weren't on Colour Me Pop and the only other likely UK shows of the time they COULD have put in an appearance on would have been Disco 2 (although only 2 shows and a few fragments survive of that, so it isn't of much use) and How It Is (again, the same). Did they appear in the US even?
It's possible they may have appeared on European TV, in which case the chances of survival are probably greater, especially if we're talking about German, Danish or Swedish. Let us know if you uncover any facts - i'd be interested to know myself.

Audience appeared on Whistle test around the time of 'House on the hill' (Charisma label L.P.). I believe the session tapes exist even if the show transmission wasn't taped.
