what is the survival rate for this show, as a number of groups and performers apeared , Mary Hopkin, Casuals etc and would provide an alternative source of performances

William have you tried contacting Hughie Green's son?
Hughie Green was known to have a vast amount of his own material and indeed owned his own Ampex 2inch machine. A will he made, stipulated that his son would destroy it all at his death . However this was made sometime ago, well before the family feud, so whether or not it was carried out is another matter.

Seen very little (well nothing) from the 60s - the doc on Greene had some OK from the 70s, seemed about 2 or 3 on broadcast VT and the rest from fuzzy (U-Matic?) copies.
Did I not hear somewhere that his instructions to junk were not carried out...?
His disasterous "UK independance" (1975?) edition was only shown from sub-broadcast format.

I wonder if there is anyway of finding out who had one , perhaps sony, phillips, ampex et.c have a list of uk people who bought video machines.

Well the 1968 ABC Winners show exists on VT, so there's one from the 1960s at least. I have also seen another on tr from that decade. There seem to be a couple in colour from 1971 and 72. Also the last one from 78. As that 76 one is around on U-Matic then I think more are out there in this way.

Remember when Challenge had their Christmas Cult Selection? They aired the 1978 Winners Show which I believe was originally shown on 20th March 1978. It featured artists like Mary Hopkins, Peters & Lee, Lena Zavaroni and Bernie Flint.
