the beatles stuff from sounds of the 60's are not top of the pops look at the captions !!!!!!!!!!! and there is NO TOTP footage on the anthology No I asked about the 1964 Top of the Pops footage, not beatles just 64 ( i tihnk they showed cliff, stones amoung others, when this episode isnt suppose to exist. As for PW and Rain there a re 2 prpmos on anthology, as as i recall made by the beatles and shown on totp.

It's perfectly likely that the 16/6/66 TOTP exists out there. Just because it hasn't been seen by anyone of us here doesn't mean anything at all. If someone owning it knows of it's rarity then i'm sure they are quite happy to make it's existence known without displaying it. Collectors ARE that petty sometimes, i'm afraid. One upmanship is big. I'm certain that more TOTP are out there in somebody's cupboards.

Doesn't the first episode ever exist? Or is it just the DC5 clip that does? I think that's owned by DC himself.
Anyone know about DC5 appearances on Ed Sullivan Show? These were meant to be issued as an anthology (but it never materialised!)

I have reason to believe that a 'back-projection' reel of a 68 edition of TOTP exists in private hands.
Would this be of any interest or historical value ?

No, I've definitely been told it's a 'back projection' reel from a 1968 TOTP edition.
It apparrently requires a special back projector in order to play the film.

It apparrently requires a special back projector in order to play the film. do you mean a BP played in the show or a BP of the show? if no bp projector is available you could use an ordinary mirror to reverse the image or just project onto a thin bed sheet or a sheet of paper a watch from the other side.

I was told who was on the show, but I can't honestly remember now who it was.
I'll ask again next time I see the chap in question.
