definitly a scape goat for the payola, the authorities wanted to make an example of someone and he was a prominent exponent of R&R by the way have you ever tried the Alan Freed Omelette. or even the ginsburger?

William...i could not agree with you more....after Freed left WINS....the station dropped R`n`R, and played Sinatra 3DAYS FLAT!!...and the music became bland, its a subject thats always got me....and still goes on today...and whats being done???...NOTHING!!!, guys Like freed made music....but all the big-wigs wanted was a return to the 1930`s type Jazz...How uncool Eh?

William...will try saying "Woo-Woo".....but i gather i wont get anywhere....(execpt to the nut-house)...as for the web site i`ve seen that...i wonder if any reserch has been done in N.Z....i recon theres a gold mine of of stuff there, Rockstar recently found, and released material of Haley, Cochran Vincent from a 57` Ampol Show....(Radio)....so i think the possibilites of Freed material out there could be next to nothing!...what do you think?

But the big question is, what on earth was a Pookiesnackenburger?
Regarding Freed, there's a lot of recordings floating about on the anorak circuit, mostly from his stint on WINS (New York), with some earlier stuff from WJW (Cleveland) too. Fascinating listening. More of a Dick Biondi man, m'self!
Cheers, Shaun

Firstly...never heard of a "Pookiewotsitsname"(wind up or wot?)...Secondly...there is a good amount out there....not on the "Anorak " scene....managed to get hold of the Final telecast (Audio only...not bad quality) a sad loss to a man who started the careers of many a "Pop Star"...but sadly led to what we have today YAWN!!!!!
