Hi
I've got an old audio recording from Top Of The Pops. The record is called UNDER MY THUMB, but I've no idea who the male singer is, it sounds a little like Guy Darrell. I've searched the totp 2 database but Wayne Gibson is the only artist listed. It clearly is not WAYNE GIBSON as I have 2 different versions of the song on audio tape, one from Radio Trent which IS Wayne Gibson and the other from Top Of The Pops. Has anybody got any weekly listings of artists that performed on Top Of The Pops from between 1973-1975, so I could check for myself.

The only person who would have performed Under My Thumb (the Jagger/Richard song) at that time IS Wayne Gibson, whose version was a hit in 1974 as part of the Pye Disco Demand re-releases. I believe it was recorded by Wayne sometime in the 60s but was not a hit until 74. I remember him performing it on TOTP at that time, and I too have that version on Audio-cassette.
Why do you think it "clearly is not Wayne Gibson"? Do you consider him very distinctive? I never heard him do any other song, myself.
