Any info on this?
Pop show from Manchester circa 67. The Kinks performed Dandy on it. I believe this footage still exist.
Anyone got a Kal/Radio Times handy?

Piccadily Palace was the American title for the final ATV Morecambe and Wise series. I think it was transmitted in the States as a Summer replacement for 'Hollywood Palace'.
I haven't seen the Kinks book - are they sure it was from Manchester as I'd thought that Elstree was more likely. M & W had a good line-up of pop acts on the show - as well as the Kinks they had the Animals, Small Faces, DC5, Moody Blues and the Hollies!
It's a shame these shows seem to be so obscure, the Small Faces spot has been bootlegged on video but who knows how many actually survive?
ATV were pretty good at keeping the earlier series of M & W but nothing from the 1967 run ever seems to turn up in repeats.

The other sad thing about them being missing is the fact they were made in colour.

Found this on the net. Any chance the shows survive in Canada?
Although screened in the UK in monochrome, the sixth ITV series was taped in colour especially for the US market, and so American/international guests starred in each edition. It was aired in the States by the ABC network under the title The Piccadilly Palace, ahead of the UK transmissions, from 20 May to 9 September 1967, as a summer replacement for The Hollywood Palace. Morecambe and Wise had long wished to crack the American market (and had appeared there on The Ed Sullivan Show) but would not commit themselves to the 16 shows that ABC wanted and were negotiating for via ATV's Lew Grade. Although warmly received by those viewers who tuned in - especially in Canada, where Morecambe and Wise had just appeared on stage, in Toronto - the American audience ratings were not high enough to warrant a further US run, a fault that Grade, in his autobiography, blamed on the comedians' refusal to slow down their fast-paced act.
