Hello from Germany!
I am a very big fan of Bill Haley and the comets. I live in Hannover, Germany. So I hope you will understand my bad school-english...!
I am looking for these two TV shows from the sixties with Bill Haley and the Comets:
1. READY STEADY GO (11th Sept. 1964)
2. THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS (19th Sept. 1964)
It seems that it is absolutely impossible to get this two shows with Bill Haley on video...! I tried nearly everything, but without success.
And now I have found this website!!!
If there is someone who has one of these TV shows (or both) on video: I WOULD PAY A VERY GOOD PRICE FOR IT!!!!!
...and now I hope that someone will answer me....!

Hello ,the two shows you mention are believed to be missing from the archives and have possibly been wiped. About twenty years ago many of the 'ready steady go' shows were discovered by Dave Clark of the sixties pop group 'The Dave Clark Five' . He may have the show you mention as he did release some of the RSG shows on VHS. In case you did not know Bill Haley did make an appearance on TOTPS playing ' Rock around the clock' in colour in approx April 1974 .... this show is still in the archives. You can check this at the 'Top of the pops2' website at www.bbc.co.uk/totp2/look for 'performance database' and place your band or song in the window and it will tell you if a TOTPS performance exists. |

There is also a performance of Bill Haley doing the same song at Granada's 'Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club' from around the same time. Often shown late at night on Granada Plus. Unfortunetely my copy went missing a while back.....

Thanks for the answers. I have both performances on video. TOTP 1974 and Wheeltappers.
BTW, Haley performed 1968 on TOTP, too.
But I never saw this 1968 performance on video.

Clive...in responce to your inquiry about Bill Haley...on the "Wheeltappers" show...it was shown about 3 months ago...and i taped it....also previous The Crickets were on it....(A sad come down) i also have his Ed Sullivan Broadcasts as well...
