I was most sad to hear that Les Gray of 'Mud' had died.He and the band certainly brought a little happiness, joy and excitement to the strike ridden , angry 1970s.

TEXTSaw Les, and Mud, perform at Butlins in Summer 1993, and he seemed on his last legs then : very thin, and the other band members had to hold him up while he attempted dancing to Tiger Feet. He made comments about it being his last gig for a while because he needed to 'go away somewhere'. I'm amazed he lasted another 10 years +.

Oh dear, another part of my childhood gone. Mud were always one of my faves at the time. I remember seeing them in a feature on Blue Peter in the late eighties. They had a hits cd out on EMI, and were in the studio to perform Tiger Feet. I hadn't seen them for years and I couldn't believe how old and ill Les Gray looked - I thought at first it was a new lead singer.
