Has anybody else seen the reels of tape that are currently being sold on e bay featuring lots of clips from top of the pops in the sixties and none of the clips are currently being held in the bbc archives. It would be great if somehow we could get these clips back to the bbc so they could maybe show them on a top of the pops 2 show special.

Makes my mouth water. Also it makes me angry and sad that the BBC didn't see fit to keep even a few more TOTP in it's 'archive'.

was that the one with them sitting on silver plinths? the same rather dangerous ones procul harum are standing on in the xmass special
do these have dj links as well?
how does the dave dee.. audio compare to the multi coloured non bbc archive totp clip? is it the same one?
I have to agree with the state of totp in the archive, it has been said that episode hunters like the idea of missing episode and would hate them to be found as it would spoil all their fun, this may be true for some but not for me, I would rather they all existed , it is frustrating to look through the database and see all the performances that are probably lost forever I would rather be watching them than looking for them

Just to put my hyperventilating mind at rest....this material is *audio* not video, isn't it?
Cheers, Shaun

and or some screenshots/photographs of the performances from the 60's
im surprised that TOTP2 havent thought of this !!!!!!!!!!!!

What are the chances of ID ing the other performances? would they be things like Cilla and Dusty and I supose Dee Time etc usualy there's tight editing and no intro on off air audio, on the totp clips are there DJ links?

they are from TOTP as they run in line from the original running orders (the bbc db is not in running order)
the others are from LP's or radio for defs as there is no clapping, straight into the song
