The thread has, like the Timeslip eps been errr.."wiped"! It's alright... I've just found a copy of the thread on an unlabeled N1500 tape...

The Timeslip thread on Mausoleum has gone now. Anyone know what was contentious about what was said? I didn't get a chance to read it again before it went! Can someone fill me in on what was said? Just curious...was it all a hoax?

LOL MKS!
24 episodes of Timeslip on N1500 from Southern repeats in 1973.
Another 17,000 (thats thousand) tapes of various formats await cataloguing - these all collected by the one family from early 70s to 1980 ish.
How much 17,000 N1500/1700, Betamax, VHS cost in old money back then?
Sounds like they were spending more than the BFI on acquisitions.

His usually alias is "jason" and most of his bootleg sales used the addy "jason@golden-fleece.freeserve.co.uk", although on the Mausoleum Club he used "jtv@golden-fleece.freeserve.co.uk" (he changed this yesterday, but has kept the name "Jason"). His bootleg site which offered off air recordings for sale en masse and even an "off air taping service" also used the domain name golden-fleece.freeserve.co.uk.
That this guy should be waxing indignant about "Ebay pirates" is the height of hilarity. He is dumping on the Mausoleum Club from a great height, and getting away with it apparently. It is a very sad thing to watch.
The "colour Timeslip tapes" will, mark my words, conveniently turn to "goo" as he calls it once playback is attempted.

....and of course do not forget his friend when you come across those big old quad tapes
Quote Egyptian Poppycock re mausoleum club " quad tapes" 5/12/03
"I ask as a friend of mine, quite quite mad and obsessed with 60's TV equipment actually has a quad machine installed in his cellar, which is an Aladdins cave of old TV hardware. It was purchased from TVS in the 80's who inherited it from Southern and has been beautifully restored to pristine working order. He is on a mission to get more old quad tapes, as he has only 3 spools which came from TVS circa 1984/5"

The character called Bruiser has in fact just be BANNED from the MAusoleum site for posting defamatory comments about me. No doubt he will shortly be removed from this forum as well. For your information my name, email address and other information is not associated with any non existent web site he claims, and I do not sell bootlegged material on this or ANY other forum.
Try not to encourage this idiot, he really is unhinged and has sent me abusive personal emails. The information he has published is unfounded, untrue, and totally slanderous.

A few months ago this joker had a bootleg web site hosted by Freeserve and was trying to flog off timecoded VHS dubs of "Thriller" copied to DVD-R as "official" releases. He also offered other programmes for sale of similar status. Several times he posted on the "Mausloeum Club" under aliases promoting these illegal ventures, eventually giving up after each was blocked. This "convenient" Timeslip find seems like an attempt at revenge/wind up - whatever, when he thinks memories have faded. This is offensive and against the rules of this forum. Not only it is totally untrue and unfounded, it amounts to slander. I have reported this post to the moderators as well as the BRUISER character just banned from the Mausoleum site (unless u are one and the same!!!) This is SUPPOSED to be a serious forum, not a slagging off board. And I refer you to the thread on MAusoleum for the exact reason why there are no screen shots available. It just takes a bit of common sense actually to work out that old tapes can not be loaded and run for just a few screen shots to show off with: these tapes are possibly able to survive only one further playback before becoming useless, and so to do this in anything other than very careful restorative conditions would be uttter sacrilege!! Digibeta copies need to be made under strict conditions and not in front room with a knackered old machine. Is that not a very OBVIOUS thing for any member on this forum to understand? We are dealing with 30 year old videotape that simply CANNOT and DOES NOT deserve to be treated in such a casual manner.

As a moderator at The Mausoleum Club, I feel I should point out that anyone who comes along spoiling for a fight we will routinely ban. This is not to say that The Mausoleum Club have taken 'sides'.
From a personal point of view (i.e. not the Mausoleum Club line), I strongly remember the "Golden Fleece" episode and indeed the level of coincidence is such that I am surprised that Egyptian Papyrus/Jason's first response wasn't "you're confusing me with someone else", which would be the natural reaction. Perhaps if you were to post under your real name, then people may take you that bit more seriously, "Jason".

I quite agree. One thing that always disappoints me though is the fact that most people posting are guests and can't be bothered to register as members. Of course this is no guarantee of authenticity, as the recent abuse directed at me through all the boards proved, but it might help to establish some sort of bona fides. It will also be very useful if the details can be verified in some sort of way as well, as this will prevent a lot of hassle. This does smack of big brother - the excellent novel, not the crap show - but it seems that there are too many childlike minds roaming the net!
Steve
PS Hope all is well Alan, email me as I seem to have lost your email address and have been busy transferring more stuff!

Hi Steve,
I tried posting as a Member here, but keep getting error messages when I try to log in. The point is that people should stick to one ID here (and preferably at other forums also). All this multiple ID stuff can only lead one way...
If people have something to say, they should have the gumption to say it using their real name or recognised ID.
Best,
Alan

Indeed, but it's also common sense that if you're going through old tapes at home (especially Philips VCR tapes), you run a VHS or DV recording while you're doing it, in case you're getting the one-and-only playback you ever achieve! A VHS is better than nowt, and obviously you can use it as a source for screenshots etc.

Exactly! Another problem with any missing television announcement made on this site (or the others) is that there is no way of checking validity. And so we get hoaxes which always drag the same old stuff up and mostly in the same ways. Now we can all have fun on these sites without taking things too seriously, but when the odds are stacked against someone as far as credibility is concerned, it wouldn't take much to prove a claim. Nuff said!

Eh? I haven't been banned as far as I know.
These are NOT abusive posts (and I certainly haven't sent anyone abusive emails). I am simply pointing out the truth, because I know this person, I know he does NOT have Timeslip and other people have a right to know this.
Dozens of other people saw his email addy before he changed it. And even more people saw the site. It is FACT.
The fact that he refuses to post a single image from his supposed colour Timeslip tape is a little suspicious is it not?
