Anyone know what programmes the following performances featured on TOTP2 this week originally came from? - Crosby & Nash - Marrakesh Express (9/11/70)
- Charlie Rich - The Most Beautiful Girl (31/7/76)
- The Clash - London's Burning (5/77) (incidentally, this sounded nothing like the single)
Glad to see that TOTP2 are using clips from other programmes from the 1970s where either the TOTP archive is lacking or where the artists never appeared on the show.

No it isn't 'London Calling'. It's definately 'Londons Burning'. Wasn't this The Clash's second single which failed to chart? I initially got this a few years ago on M2, it's part of a three song live film selection also including 'White Riot' and '1977' and inbetween each promo is interview footage from 1977.

Well, that clarifies one thing - I was actually thinking of London's Calling when I said the song sounded different - no wonder, different song!

"London's Burning" is a track from the Clash's self-titled 1977 debut album. A live version was included on the B-side of their second single "Remote Control" which failed to chart.

Always seems to be the same Xmas clips too!
Much as I like Slade, Mud & Wizzard, surely there is other Xmas material.
What about the Band Aid 2 version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas' ?
Even if it's the video, it's a change.
I've taped a few 'Xmas' TOTP2's over the years, & is it my imagination, or does every show end with bl**dy Bing Crosby ?
Even VH1 & L!ve Tv a few years back had some different clips. (Elton John's Step Into Christmas).
The naffer, the better(Bjorn Again's 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town)!
(Before anyone says, I am aware of the patchy state of the archives !)

What is sad is many of the early Xmas shows are wiped. If memory serves, only Xmas 67 pt 2 exists from all sixties xmas TOTP shows. What is a disaster is the early colour ones are gone too. Both 1969's, both 1970's and the first 1971 xmas show. I believe the earliest colour TOTP clip surviving is Marmalade's "Ob-Li-Da" which was culled from Xmas 69 pt 2 for inclusion in "Pop Goes The Sixties" Please correct me if i'm wrong. ???ASM

Delayed kinda answer to the original query - I didn't see the clip on TOTP2, but an educated guess would place this as being from "Crosby & Nash In Concert", produced by Stanley Dorfman and repeated on UK Arena (RIP) a few years back. Hope this helps. Jim.
