Can anyone shed any light on the TOTP 500th show? Is this the 4th October 1973 show? I know The Who doing '5:15' exists but does the whole show? Didn't the Sweet also perform 'Ballroom Blitz' on this show and that has never turned up...as far as I know anyway! Anyone have a full tracklisting of what does exist from this show?

Sadly, the 5.15 clip only seems to exist outside of the BBC. I have no idea if any of the rest of the show survives although the Slade and Simon Park material is represented in another edition around this time. I don't have the paperwork to hand but wasn't Tie A Yellow Ribbon re-used in the Xmas show (which survives)?

Yes, that's right Laurence - from memory, the song also includes an additional line, mentioning the "500th Anniversary".

Sadly the Jools Holland clip does not exist as fas as I know.
He was interviewed by Emma Freud on Treasure Trove? some years back and mentioned the Beeb wiping it. Instead a clip from the 500th show (Tie a Yellow Ribbon) was shown.
