I thought the instrument-smashing was edited out of the broadcast edition.

That's my understanding too.
Record Collector Issue 165: "The band finished the song with some equipment smashing, edited out of the final show (but which can be seen at the end of The Kids Are Alright). Unofficial copies of this have appeared, complete with Noel Edmonds' introduction"

it starts with a Noel intro, no credits at the end and finishes with Jimmy savile going "well, well, well" then the tape ends

Pete, I have a copy of Relay from the Russell Harty show which is on a foreign D.V.D I bought from e-bay. I will gladly do you a copy to V.H.S. I am after a copy of the 5:15 clip from the 500th if you can help?

My friend who lives in Germany has been taping 'Disco' for some time. Yes, there is that Slade TOTP's performance of 'Gudbuy T' Jane' and also another TOTP's performance of 'Cum On Feel The Noize' from March 1973, not the one taken from the 1973 Christmas show which BBC 2 repeated in the 90's.
Anyone know if 'Disco' have any more 'missing' Slade performances from Top Of The Pops?

Thanks Pete for all the info. Sadly no more Slade TOTP performances appear to exist, that we haven't seen already, unless the BBC sent out shows to other countries who may still have the odd clip lying around in their archives?

I'd love to see some of Slade's mid-'70s TOTP appearances such as "Thanks For The Memory" and "In For A Penny". Surely somebody somewhere must have copies of these??

The only clip of Thanks For The Memory known to exist is taken from the Bay City Rollers show 'Shang-A-Lang'. 'In For A Penny' once again only exists from the 'Supersonic' 1975 Christmas show which Plus broadcast a couple of years ago.

Thanks. What about "How Does It Feel?" - probably my favourite Slade single ever!
