How much of this show survives? In particular I'd like to know if the early 1969 edition with the Kinks is in existance.

Only 9/12/67 and 18/1/69 exist.
An incomplete edition for 16/12/67 is also held, all on 1-PAL.
source - Kal 95.

The Kinks appeared on 1/2/69 - junked.
The Cohen clip should have come from 27/1/68, also noted as missing (?)

Is this the same show that the Fleetwood Mac performance of 'Albatros' comes from? Might as well get some correct info whilst we're talking about it.

Thanks for the info..dammit, it looks like footgae of the band circa Village Green is near-nonexistant.

Can't see Fleetwood Mac as ever being billed on the show ?

The 1970 series is a different show called "Julie Felix" though - not "Once More With Felix" (if you really want to get picky).
There is obviously more material from "Once More..." surviving than is listed. The Cohen song segment seems to exist, plus a duet he did with Felix on the same show (as some of it was used in "Later With Jools Holland" when Cohen appeared on it in 1993.
I'd like to see Village Green period Kinks myself too; the only footage from this time i've seen / can think of pffhand is the b/w promo film for Starstruck. Anyone know of more?

There's a Kinks clip from around the same era (although not Village Green album) at Pathe. It shows them singing 'Wonderboy' in a studio.
Should be viewable on line via the ITN archive site (which has now swallowed Pathe...........)

Well, of course, there was also the Kinks June 1968 appearance on "Colour Me Pop", on which they performed a mouth-watering selection of "Village Green"-era stuff. Annoyingly, this was long rumoured to exist "in a foreign archive" but recently, Keith Badman said he couldn't find it anywhere..woudl be nice to know the details of this particular case!
