Interesting one, this. There is no mention of it on the P as Bs at all. I have been wondering that a while. It may well be from one of the two or three missing editions from 1973. Anyone know when it came out? It wasn't a big hit.

This is one of those "DISCO" TOTP clips, and a very nice performance too.

It's not logged within the TOTP Database

No and presumably must be from one of those editions missing from the paperwork. It's likely there will be alternative paperwork somewhere in the depths of BBC Caversham to identify where it came from. That's something for the future though - maybe my retirement preoject!

There will be documentation somewhere, yes. Does anyone have a release date for the record to try and pin it down a bit?

Ah, an album track. I didn't know that. Unusual for that time as the LP slot had gone by then. It may still have been from one of those April / May '73 missing editions or otherwise it's an omission from another P as B. Can't see where it could be missing from though - most seem roughly the right length.

The song was definitely released as a single in the UK but of course failed to chart. It entered the US chart in November '72 so maybe the UK release followed shortly after? By the way, his son's in The Strokes (but then you probably knew that).

thats not It never rains in Southern Calfornia thats free electric band 'Like duh....'as my Buffy loving daughter would say. I never said it was from 'It Never Rains....' I was merely continuing the Albert Hammond theme.

I've just discovered that it was released as a single in the UK in January 1973. Hope that helps.
