thanks interesting; what else is there from this I wonder? So this is where the forum got to! Two episodes of "The Price of Fame (or Fame At Any Price)"still exist, both on colour VT. Alan Price and Georgie Fame with special guests Delaney & Bonnie with Eric Clapton and Bobby Whitlock (episode one) and Thelma Houston (a blistering performance of "This Is Your Life" in episode two, as well as "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah"), as well as the visual delight of Pan's People in what is believed to be their earliest surviving performance in colour. Musical direction by Reg Guest; production by Stanley Dorfman. Jim.

ta more and more interesting, i wonder what the xmission dates for these were pans people in the sixties and in colour that must be good news for those PP fans out there I wonder if they know? according to the topt database their earliest colour performance was Wedding Bell Blues 22nd January, 1970. speaking for myself i have an interest in a wide variety of programs and sometimes i talk about one in particular because its something I have a lot of info on, but my interest in totp does not exclude rare programs like this. I didn't even know there was such a program which must mean this new music sub-forum is working.

ta more and more interesting, i wonder what the xmission dates for these were BBC-1 Colour, 20 & 27 November 1969. I believe (but can not be 100% certain) this was a 6-part series. These two episodes are the only ones that exist, one of which was returned to the BBC from Belgian television in the mid-1970s. Jim.

Regarding Pan's People's early appearances on TOTP: it was not possible to identify many of these from the P as B documents. So rather than make assumptions about which songs they PROBABLY danced to in any given edition, I did not list them at all when compiling the TOTP database (although most editions only have 1 or possibly 2 songs played from disc - the items PP would have danced to - so we can all make up our own minds here). Their appearances only begin to be listed in detail from early 1970, although they had been around irregularly for a couple of years before that.

as far as PP themselves were concerned mony mony was their first in 1968 but you have better info than me am i correct in thinking that reflections in dec 67 was the gojos last apearance? i was wondering if the 1/1/70 edition was recorded on that day or earlier? if so then it was the last 1960s episode.

thanks, i wonder how much else is out there, dr who, dads army et.c get all the publicity, while things like this can slip through the net. To be fair, this was returned in the mid-1970s, and was probably a routine library transaction (they sent the tape out, destroyed the tapes of all but the first episode in the meantime, and then the tape was returned and retained). Had it been returned recently, I'm sure the BBC would have made something of it. The fact that it is Pan's People makes me suspect that an engineer may have been responsible for the existence of the tape nowadays! JS.

The bbc did attempt a number of popular programming formats and I sometims wonder how many of these still exist, TOTP gets most of the attention but these mustn't be forgotten either. It would be interesting to see these 2 episodes.
