Been watching a docu.

The Dutch had adaptations of:

Juke Box Jury (called Top Flop!)

Steptoe and Son

amongst others.

Anyone know of any more.

A singer called Adamo singing in French appeared. Anyone know anything about him?

What documentary was that?

I'd guess the Adamo footage would have been him singing 'Vous permettez, monsieur' with a bunch of kids sitting around him. It's a pretty famous clip in Holland. Adamo has a Wikipedia page in English, which will tell you more about him than I could... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adamo

Can't think of any other Dutch adaptations right now, although I'm sure there must be others.

On a related note, there was a Belgian (Dutch-speaking) adaptation of The Rag Trade, broadcast some thirty years after the BBC original. It was called "Freddytex", but it was so bad I'm slightly ashamed to remember it. ;-)

It was given to me from a friend in the states. I don't speak Dutch so I'd have to look at it again.

Thanks for the Adamo link. He appeared on Thank Your Lucky Stars so that will be good info. Yes he was singing Vous Permettez with some children.

It's unusual to think that tv franchising, so common now, existed back then.

As a counterbalance to Van der Valk was there a Dutch show showing an English copper at work in London! ;D

Speaking about Dutch TV, wasn't "Floris" (Rutger Hauer, Paul Verhoeven) dubbed in English at some time? Would that still be around?
