Hi, Does anyone know how many complete Swap Shop's are in the BBC archives, how many have been recovered from home recordings?
From the 30th anniversary last year, the first show seems to be missing, I know the last show exists.
anyone help!

I seem to remember a website listing all the missing episodes. Anyone know what happened to that?

A 10 minute clip from the first edition exists as an interview with Tom Baker and Liz Sladen.
36 complete editions survive from 1976-1981, but most comprise of special shows and the Swap Shop Awards.
Loads of clips exist, but sadly no one really bothered to record them.
If we had the same mindset then as we do now, then i'm sure we'd have all of them in the archives.

Many Thanks for the replies, gosh only 36 remaining, means 110 not recorded, just segments of them, their are some good clips turning up on youtube now, would be nice to know what episodes survive, I have a couple and that 10 minute clip of Tom Baker/Elizabeth Sladen plus a few other bits. Would be great if a whole edition from off air turned up, but I guess that is unlikely, here's hoping.
if anyone knows what shows exist please let me know.
many thanks

Wasn't some previously missing material in the form of home video recordings recovered during the making of the recent "It Started With Swap Shop"?
It may also be worth asking some of the people who have appeared on the show over the years to find out if they (or someone they know) have a recording.

Does anyone have the Altered Images performance and interview from early 1982? I would love to see this again, I *may* still have an audio recording of "Pinky Blue" from this show but the quality is poor.

Many Thanks jjw70 for the listings, what about series 6? I know some exist thru a great site www.saturdaymornings.co.uk/svgallery.shtml?show=swapshopAnd thanks to some called Ian Norman, they have a few complete editions, Euroswap in Bruges, and the last show, which many people have as timecoded copy.

Last year, I was able to include a clip from "Swop Shop" that BBC didn't have on a documentary about Barry Sheene when Noel interviewed Barry. I found it on a VHS that Barry himself had recorded and as far as I know, is the only copy in existence. Suffice to say, I also sent a copy of it to the BBC... and before anyone asks, Barry had only recorded his appearance on the show, not the rest of it. The tape wasn't dated but must have been late '81/early '82. and if anyone is interested, the link to the Sheene doc is here - www.amazon.co.uk/Legacy-Personal-History-Barry-Sheene/dp/B000MKYJMS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1204112304&sr=1-1
