Did anyone see Richard and Judy the other day? I flicked over and saw the last couple of minutes before The Simpsons came on, and I saw the tail end of a piece about Dad's Army (some sort of remake thing with Den Watts...?) and one of Perry and Croft was there and made brief mention of how there were missing Dad's Army episodes. Sadly, he got cut off practically mid-flow by Richard as the programme, being live, had come to an end.
Still, at least it was a mention of the missing episode situation on the telly...

isnt it based on the missing 'loneliness of the long distant Walker' ?
A missing ep of series 2 and was the intro to Private Walker.
James Beck's part will be played by Leslie Grantham.

Yes - it was an item on Dad's Army's 40th anniversary and featured four clips from various episodes, Jimmy Perry was accompanied by Leslie Grantham who is currently playing Walker in the stage production which features the two missing episodes Loneliness of The Long Distance Walker and A Stripe For Frazer. Two other episodes Room at the Bottom and The Deadly Attachment are featured in the second half of the show. Certainly worth catching if it comes near you - just to see the missing episodes...  |
