The early Home VTRs displayed in technology exhibitions of the time are often showin playing back TV recordings, this would also be true of sales rooms, shops, and factory tests, would it be worth contacting the origional manufacturers, salespeople and shop managers to see if any of these demonstration recordings still exist, it is possible that some recordings still exist from the early days. For example as part of a sales pitch a section of a program is recorded and then played back for the benefit of the buyer. Also what happened to the demonstraions on BBC and ITV news from 1964(when sections of the opening of the news broadcast were recorded and then played back at the end) do those off air recordings still exist?
