I've been pondering on what - I might - recall seeing of guest pop acts on 'GOLDEN SHOT'.
Recently under discussion with a friend; I definitely recall LEAPY LEE performing 'Little Arrows' early 1968. Leapy Lee was dressed in a top hat like Alexis Kanner.
I also seem to now think I recall TINY TIM doing 'Tiptoes through the tulips' though this may have been 'NICE TIME'.
And a new one rekindled is a memory of ESTHER ADN ABI OFARIM doing 'You're a lady' in the studio.
Also recall KEN DODD c. 69 dressed in a Tartan top hat. He had kids dressed up with weeble like trousers on braces as the Diddymen. I recall them looking completely stupd. They sung the TV show theme 'We are the Diddymen'.
The SPECTRUM are on record as having appeared in 67 or 68. Friend assumed this was the 'Captain Scarlet' theme but I wonder did they actually just do one of their general releases?

The Sweet did a live version of Blockbuster in '73. An audio version of this exists.

I've seen a black and white clip on youtube of Clive Dunn performing Grandad.
It looks like its been taken from Challenge TV or something. Have they been rerunning it?
I totally missed that one!

Yes Challenge ran 4 - Jackie Rae 67 - Monkhouse 1970 - Norman Vaughan 72 - Charlie Williams 73. These seemed to be the same ones ITC said they had to me in 1990. There was another Charlie Williams - the last show - think a private recording. The Dunn one also contains Jackie Lee. It's a good edition. I suppose really I was speculating on the lost (wiped) acts; as we may never see these again - maybe anyone might recall them.

Bob Monkhouse recounted one live show from 1969 in his autobiography which featured Norman Wisdom and providing music, Del Shannon performing "Runaway". Monkhouse described Wisdoms' antics in great detail marvelling at the fact this was all on live TV and lamenting that it was never recorded.

Hi Guys. Yes, I think Leapy Lee went to prison for tax evasion ( allegedly ). Im sure I remember a photograph or footage of Him in prison, drinking champagne at the time and there being a big rumpus about it. Apparently, the Man himself either owns or works at a club in Spain and still performs on stage. 2 different mates have been to the bar and seen him. Nice Guy by all accounts !! We all make mistakes in life dont we ?

I distinctly recall the info being given out that a cache of around 18 editions had now been returned (I think it was the one with Bob Monkhouse as one of the guests; the implication being that they were t/rs from his own collection). Nothing has been heard since though, presumably because they weren't returned. Does anyone know anything of this? At least what exists is a fair (if very meagre) cross-section of all eras and presenters.
