BBC Open Archive Trial

Hello All,

Just saw this article posted last April, Have not heard of this elsewhere. looks like we may be ever closer to being able to access any material we want from the BBC archives, even from our own PC eventually. Here is a link to the article:

Hi Robert. Some of us are beta-testing it. It's all very nice. Works well. only 0.02% (according to the site) of BBC archive available and some of it has been seen recently (Ghostwatch available on DVD for example) but some good stuff. There's some lists posted at the Mausoleum Club.

If anyone is signed up and using Windows then you may want to upgrade your RealPlayer software. The latest version (came out 27th June I believe) has the ability to download streams and works with this trial, although strangely only for the Windows Media streams and not the Realplayer streams. And it dead easy at the click of a button.
