I seem to recall the following - Around 1976; Philip Jenkinson was dropped from the BBCs 'FILM NIGHT' programme. According to INFAX and vague memories the original presenter was a female.
Around 1975 reference is made to Tony Bilbow doing interviews on film inserts and a panel including two females and three men I think. These appear in c. Dec 1975 held editions.
Barry Norman reviewed the David Croneneberg film SHIVERS around May 1976.
I seem to recall whilst Barry gave an 'erudite' review; a totally inane one being given on another BBC film review series around the same time (or week). This showed a clip where the main character regurgitates one of the abdominal parasites central to the films plot. He was seen to throw up from a high tower block window. Two old dears with a transparent 1970s umbrella were walking below. As the liquid (red); hit the umbrella; one looked up lamenting 'poor bird couldn't have realised where it was going'. A blackly comic scene.
I seem to recall a panel similar to the one outlined in notes; and a daffy long haired young woman in kaftan saying 'I know I was watching some of this one through handfuls of hair' Then after the clip was played 'see what I mean?'
The FILM NIGHT holdings seem to abruptly cease around March 1976.
Would I be recalling therefore a live (not held) show; a wiped show; or a totally diferent series I wonder?
Can anyone help?
