'MAGPIE's Tony Bastable has passed on following an illness.
I read this the other day. That was the only way I found out; nothing on TV news.
Actually I was disgusted that his former Employer; ITV didn't run anything by way of tribute or even mention.
Apparently Tony after presenting MAGPIE for four years, he became the shows producer. This was in the newspaper column I read. I wasn't aware of this, but possibly it might explain why editions begun to be recorded in 1972.
Certainly it would be a great tribute if someone like 'Network' could put together a MAGPIE video; featuring some of his editions.
