'Wild, Wild Women', which was shown at 22:55 on BBC 4, Friday, May 18 2007, as part of their 'Birth of Now season', was written by Ronald Wolfe & Ronald Chesney of On The Buses fame, and is not listed on infax and thus suspected, by me anyway, as having been a lost show... I missed the original broadcast - did anyone get a copy? Synopsis follows: Wild, Wild Women - Drama made in 1969, starring Barbara Windsor and Pat Coombs. Days before Edward VII's coronation, workers in a milliners shop struggle to meet the demand for hats. A link to the BBCs Guide to Comedy follows, for even more details: www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/guide/articles/w/wildwildwomen_1299003346.shtml

Not the "Comedy Playhouse" pilot though - perhaps this is where the confusion arose?

Not the "Comedy Playhouse" pilot though - perhaps this is where the confusion arose? I thought Ted was saying that the shown episode had no Infax listing. Indeed, a search for 'wild wild women' comes up with only this: open.bbc.co.uk/catalogue/infax/programme/NBRY331RI found the sitcom only by searching for Barbara Windsor and working back through her credits.

Have you tried searching on "Wild,Wild Women"? I don't know whether the public version is better at searching by words, but 'native' Infax won't always get you straight there if you miss out punctuation etc...

I've tried it with the comma, without the comma, with a space after the commma, without a space after the comma. Nada. Fortunately, a bit of lateral thinking got me there in the end.

All I can say is that I'm glad I don't have to rely on that version of Infax! Very strange - I've just tidied up the entry today (the title is now uniformly "Wild,Wild Women"...), but the programme has been logged on Infax for at least 15 years, with not much variation in the title. The entry was updated in 1999 when the show was repeated on BBC Choice in "The Take", and given a new programme number.

Finally been swayed to register, after posting on here for near on a year now, as I couldn't reply, for some reason, to your reply/post... BTW, all now seems to be becoming clear, on the Wild, Wild Wowen front... and a shame the Playhouse pilot seems not to exist... BTW, all, found this several days ago, and thought I must share - what great reminders of the past (not that I go back quite that far) and fantastically put together/done - he is indeed an artist...: 625.uk.com/tv_logos/flash.htm625.uk.com/tv_logos/flash2.htm

All I can say is that I'm glad I don't have to rely on that version of Infax! It has its idiosyncracies, but by God it's better than nothing, from where I'm sitting. Obviously you need more flexibility and greater detail, but I can live with the workarounds for my own purposes.
