Is it me, or do they look like BBC tapes? Anyone know where the piccy comes from?

Those who may have missing television material, and have been reluctant to come forward, will only need to see this photograph for the reaction to be: "I told you so, they're still junking material".
The biggest own goal in the search for missing television programming since the BBC4 'TV on Trial' fiasco.
Yours,

I have seen this picture posted before. A sad sight. I hope they are not junking these days, would hope not anyway.
Lance.

Being charitable, it could be that these are tapes the BFI didn't want after the transfer to D3. What use is a bulk-erased quad or 1" tape if you don't have a machine?

What do they still routinely wipe/junk these days? Rushes, incomplete versions of programmes, 1" tapes that have been transferred to digital formats, spare copies of VT programmes, spare film copies. Which is what is pictured in the skip... Sorry, nothing exciting.
