Hi, I've just finished listening to 4 Tony Hancock TV episodes from the BBC Radio Collection of CD's. Does this mean that they don't exist in a visual format anymore. Were they recorded by fans like Doctor Who in the 60's was? Thanks.

The soundtracks of several extant TV episodes were issued on LP in the 1970s, including 'The Lift' & 'The Bowmans'.

No, no rare telly soundtracks; they just want to pump collectors for more dosh. They're even issuing 'very best' collections from the radio series now.

LF, they are The Bedsitter, The Bowmans, The Radio Ham and The Blood Donor released on the BBC Radio Collection CD in 2003. Vinylman, do you think they are probably on DVD then?

A note of caution. Amazon says that the DVD runs for 126 minutes so that would indicate that there are not 5 full episodes.

Actually, I'll take that back. These episodes are from the last series, which was named just 'Hancock' because they only lasted about 25 minutes each. And they don't count the extras in the running time. I must stop talking to myself.

Thanks Tom for all that. I think the extra bit on the DVD might be the Galton/Simpson interview on the CD but I could be wrong.
