tickets go on sale on Friday.

I should say this will still not be the complete edition as originally broadcast, as some footage is still MIA, but more original material than seen publicly since 1968 has now been uncovered (more than half the original running time) and the rest has been reconstructed up to the full 40 minutes DR Who style using the existing complete soundtrack and other elements.

I know the performances by The Move, The Small Faces and The Hollies have all been issued elsewhere, but I still think there should be a DVD set of all surviving 'Colour Me Pop' footage (ditto 'Thank Your Lucky Stars' and 'A Whole Scene Going').

Largely repurposed and adapted footage from the existing portions of the show.

The Moody Blues show has been released on one of their boxsets too. And this Bonzo reconstruction will be on the forthcoming box. That will then mean that The Nice and Chambers Brothers shows will be the only complete or mostly complete editions that haven't been released officially.

I do agree though, it's shame that there isn't a standalone DVD release but I see that as being mega unlikely in todays market, in the streaming age the time has passed when such an item would be saleable on it's own, unless it was a limited boutique release like Kal's Ready Steady Go set. What I could see as slightly more possible is an spare evening on BBC4 when all the existing Colour Me Pop's could be broadcast: they did this with the 5 surviving Bobbie Gentry shows earlier this year, so I don't see any reason why this exposure couldn't be repeated with another contemporary BBC2 music show with a similar survival rate...
