Out today. Would be worth us getting a copy each and sharing our thoughts on this thread? Maybe some new nuggets of info within? Forgive the title of the thread but am hoping the content remains true to this idiomatic from Wiktionary: "An exclamation used to introduce especially new, important, surprising, or recent developments" cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-magazine-special-edition-the-missing-doctor-who

This isn't a special about missing episodes. It's a special about "Missing Doctor Who". It's a different thing.

While I doubt there is anything new here, I'm curious what's the difference?

Have to say George, Im as confused as you on this one.. Richard is usually precise with his comments, this is rather ambiguous. Either they have found something or think they have or its a very cynical ploy to get us to buy something we generally dont.

If you click on the link and scroll down past the missing episode bit it shows the cover of the special and reveals its got nothing to do with missing episodes. It's stuff that's missing because it never existed or was cut prior to transmission. Stuff like scenes that the writer wrote that were too ambitious for the budget or ran out of time to achieve effectively. They might touche briefly on some missing eps stuff maybe even missing bits from missing episodes. But it's not about missing episodes per se.....they did a special about those with all the telesnaps ect several years ago, 3 specials one for hartnell and 2 for troughton.

There's a bicycling map shown of the routes MEs took across the oceans but whether this differs from the previous map printed in DWM in 2013 remains to be seen. I'll get on my bike this eve and search for that missing edition. Might take a decade and a bit, but I'll expect the unexpected... especially if the winds blowing in the right direction.
- Speaking of wind blowing, I'm looking forward to any new light Phil Morris can shed on the bicycling routes, particularly the ones that go mysteriously off-road at Singapore. Hmmm...
There's also a ME X-poll in the mag for which story fans want to see the most. No prizes for guessing which came in at number one. Three words in the title, the second begins with S the third P.

That doesn't seem entirely true if you look at the excerpts reproduced on the link. There's a feature on telesnaps and one of The Space Pirates. Yes the definition of 'Missing' is expanded to include cut stuff and unmade stories covered in other features, by that doesn't mean the missing (as in made broadcast then destroyed) episodes aren't given coverage within. in fact, I just re read again and spied this quote: 'Other highlights include CG reconstructions of sets from The Daleks’ Master Plan and The Space Pirates, and a new insight into the making of The Smugglers. There are exclusive interviews with Carole Ann Ford, Wendy Padbury, Anneke Wills, The Macra Terror director John Davies and others.' sounds fairly heavy on coverage of missing episodes (using the classic definition) to me!

I thought your link to the Timelord Firing Squad was going to lead to this, Pete - www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUVcRgvJMf8

While I doubt there is anything new here, I'm curious what's the difference? What's missing from dr who than episodes? It's a great issue documenting all aspects of missing DR WHO.One of the most fascinating aspects is the loss of the locations where some of the episodes were filmed.Incredible to think that the huge O2 stadium was originally a field next to a gasworks where Cilla Nemesis was filmed! Also that stalwart of Sci-fi productions-The Straight-in Southall where I grew up and where a couple of the Pertwees were filmed literally 5 minutes from where I lived at the time has now been changed into a lovely pathway for a huge development for flats!

One of the sites listing the locations mentions a lot have been redeveloped over the years.
