I've got a poor copy of this, runs out after 19.57 mins. Has clips of Dr Feelgood (now WMG owned copyright), Jethro Tull for some reason (also WMG owned copyright I think), interview with writer Will Birch, interviews by Wilko and Sparko, a clip of Dr Feelgood - Back In The Night from Granada's 45. Part two is about Eddie & The Hot Rods and has an interview with Barrie Masters (singer), the band doing Wooly Bully (Get It Together maybe) and a clip of The Kursaal Flyers. The show is narrated by Marc Radcliffe and also has Billy Bragg's comments throughout.
Essex's probably most famous band were Procol Harum.

Essex's probably most famous band were Procol Harum. If you ask a younger person, you may be directed to Depeche Mode, Blur, The Prodigy... Happy to be proved wrong, but I think Busted may be the Essex band with the most all-important number one hit singles.

I expect ITV still have this, but there's no definitive way to check.

Well it's on the ITV Archive database - even a BITC screener, so they do have it. And when you say WMV have copyright, it's not on the programme necessarily (which would happen if they were pop vids or record company supplied-performances) but would certainly be today with the music rights like publishing etc.
Their description: The Feelgoods...the Hotrods...the Kursaals - names which burst out of Essex and rocked their way onto the music scene in the early 1970's and shaped British music for decades. The story of these musicians is told in a special documentary which uses rare archive footage, largely unseen for almost twenty five years. Some of the original founders and front men of these bands tell their stories in the programme, which also hears from one of their biggest fans Billy Bragg. The film explores the innovation, the style and the sounds which inspired a new generation and sowed the seeds of punk. 'When Essex Rocked' captures a moment in music, and a snapshot of a ripple, which was to lead to the new wave.

You mention Dr Feelgood Back In The Night from Granada TV 45, the following is on-line Dr Feelgood performed Back In The Night on
Granada TV's Rock On With 45 show, 17 July 1975. This is on Facebook. This episode exists in the archive... Eddie And The Hot Rods Wooly Bully ( you mention maybe Get It Together) - also on-line is Wooly Bully from So It Goes Granada TV 17/6/76, can be seen on Youtube and ITV Star Rider 14 July 1977 Teenage Depression and Wooly bully - live in concert at The Rainbow. This is on Facebook too. TV Brain has no entry for Star Rider, so we currently do not know if the 14/7/77 above is missing or not? Thanks also for saying Essex's probably most famous band were Procol Harum.
