Apologies if this has cropped up before, but I was reading ‘The Golden Age of Children’s Television’ by Geoff Tiballs published in 1991. In this he states, regarding Play School, that in 1982, as part of the BBC’s 60th anniversary, “George Howard then the BBC chairman buried tapes of the show in a radiation proof capsule in the grounds of his stately home, Castle Howard in Yorkshire.” Apparently this was not to be opened for 2000 years until 3982.
We no doubt all know the outcome of the Blue Peter time capsule, so I’m guessing there wouldn’t be much worth retrieving even now. I wonder if these tapes have been unearthed, if so, were there any of missing episodes?

I think radiation proof is one thing - whether that also means moisture proof is quite another.
Quite apart from anything else, is there anything to suggest this actually happened..? If so, what format..?
