Dear all, Apologies if this isn't new, but the one-off 1971 film Take One Plus One featuring Yes and Stephen Stills has turned up www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0dS7JYurPY with a production credit for Stephen T Clive, presumably Steve Turner?

Yes it's Steve Turner. This was found in Steve's collection by Kal (with help from me) in 2015/6 so they have it but AFAIK they've not done anything with it since. No idea where this version has leaked from, wasn't me guv!

Can't see it on the ITV Archive database - if it was returned to the copyright holder, other people could clip it & use it in progs! Though it is possible that their website doesn't have it on - it's by no means definitive...

Great find, I shall look forward to watching it properly. An interesting combination of artists, but both great.
I could well imagine that this was one of those curious pop/rock programmes which used to crop up on ITV in the early hours of the morning, well into the '80s and '90s, but is there any other information about it? Such as when and where it was first shown, or if it was a one-off, was it intended as a pilot for a series?

Both acts are/were Atlantic Records, so possibly Steve was hired by them? Some promo films like this were occasionally shown in some record shops, I remember an Emerson Lake and Palmer one from c.74. Another Atlantic promo film Sweet Soul Music had been shown daily at Harrod's Way-In boutique from the 15th to 26th April 1969. The film was shot at the Finsbury Park Astoria, the Roundhouse and Alexandra Park during Otis Redding's last UK visit.

Ah yes, of course, the Atlantic connection - thanks for this, Tony, and for shedding a little bit more light on what it could be.

Bit of info from Steve himself from an old email he sent to me some time ago:
'I recorded ‘Take One Plus One’ at Crown International Productions studios just off Tottenham Court Road. From memory, I believe CIP gave me the studio and editing facilities on condition I used their studios for all future productions and they then marketed the programme for me. The finished product was on 2” video tape and from what I remember had a couple of film inserts. I didn’t know it had been sold to Australia and it was a one off, although I did record other things at CIP including a feature film on VT with The Strawbs and the commercials for ICI that brought Christine and me together!! I believe CIP have now closed'

Just a FYI: this copy on YouTube pales, quality-wise, compared to the copy that Steve Turner gave to Kaleidoscope. In fact, this looks like it was shot with a camera off of a tv screen. As far as the leak goes, a Ukrainian gent was selling copies.......
