I remember a few sitcoms had stage adaptations in the 1980s, often with the original casts were possible.
Supposedly a proposed Last Of The Summer Wine stage show was affected by Bill Owen & Brian Wilde refusing to work together except when contractually obliged!

"Such was the popularity of Nearest and Dearest that in 1970 it spent the summer at the Grand Theatre, Blackpool, as a stage show" televisionheaven.co.uk/reviews/nearest-and-dearest (The Nearest and Dearest Christmas Special near-as-damn-it gave us the stage panto). Apart from the odd Royal Variety Steptoe, I wonder which was the earliest TV sitcom on stage?
