Very sorry to hear this Peter after all the time, effort and research you put into the project. It must be hugely frustrating.
DC really doesn't do himself any favours does he? He'll end up being a forgotten man of pop if he controls and suppresses everything concerning the group to such an extent that they become virtually invisible, with no back catalogue reissues or books being made available. The band were popular more than half a century ago now, so one would have thought anything that put the DC5 name back in the public consciousness would be welcomed.
I suppose we shall just have to wait for the *official* book of the band's story, written & researched by Dave Clark, edited by Dave Clark, with pictures supplied by Dave Clark, published by Dave Clark Publishing for Dave Clark Enterprises... with foreword by Dave Clark.
As a side-note, I'm surprised there are any clips or performances of the band on youtube, as I would have thought DC would have had them all taken down as soon as they appear. Maybe that's beyond even his powers.

Well, Peter I wish you had been able to have a chat with Mr DC and perhaps honed it to more of his liking- I know he gets a regular kicking from those who want to see more stuff. Still, we have to understand that these celebs live a different world to us and what is not important to us may be important to them. I hate to see your hard work dissipated like this when he could have contributed a lot more and know that something definitive had been left about DC5.

All anyone has to do is look at his face. His stupid waxwork of a face. He's a horrible, bitter old goat. I'm sorry Peter to hear about all that peacock strutting nonsense you've had to endure from Mr. 5.

Peter, so sorry to read this. If his desire is to be completely forgotten then he’s just about accomplished his goal. Mention the band to kids today and you’ll get blank stares. Only old-timers like us care, which is the real shame because the band’s music was and remains seminal. Just thinking of how the other guys have been essentially erased from pop-culture history is heartbreaking. Good on you for making your work available for all! You, Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar.

You, Sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. I can remember them being occasionally played by my Dad, & the bigger hits like Bits & Pieces and Glad All Over still get some airplay.
There are some other 60s groups who have an even lower profile these days, but in the case of DC5 it's very self inflicted, like when Allen Klein was withholding the reissue of many songs he owned the back catalogue to.
