Classic episodes on iPlayer - editorial fiddling?

Nearly every episode on iPlayer has "editorial" in the filename. Which I believe means something has been cut out or fiddled with? In fact in the first two seasons so far I can only see two episodes (The Reign of Terror) which are "original" rather than "editorial."

So, what has been done with these?
