At some point, once the drama with Stef Coburn dies down or gets settled, the first 4 episodes will become avalible.

Does it also affect The Tribe of Gumm? (Sorry, couldn't resist).
But seriously, what about the pilot episode?

At some point, once the drama with Stef Coburn dies down or gets settled, the first 4 episodes will become avalible. Indeed. People are acting like this hasn't happened before. It's been happening for over 50 years! "I'm so excited for new viewers - imagine being 8 years old, spending winter afternoons exploring the 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond. And we're determined this won't be a dusty museum - we have exciting plans to bring the back catalogue to life, with much more to be revealed!” Much more to be revealed... With the words "exciting" and "back catalogue to life", I'd think this is an allusion to colourization.

Talk about a massive brain fade by the bbc to have the debut story unavailable online. You have thought it would have been sorted well before the announcement and release.

I do hope RTD has chosen his words wisely here. Already just from some of the comments on here and no doubt on other forums, people will now believe the fabled missing/lost episodes have been found. RTDs comments are so unspecific, they could mean anything. Animations, colourisations etc etc, but now being so close, people are now going to get so excited in the belief that so much has come home. I hope so, we cant have another complete disaster such as the Phillip Morris mess in the past where so many people were left disappointed and resentfull. I wish either he would be a little more specific on this so as not to raise so many hopes and then have them dashed again.

He was on board this from the beginning. The only Phil Morris mess was ourselves. That we couldn't wait for the rest of what he found. A lot of unkind things have been said (and I hold up my hand as guilty on that one), a lot of impatience, ungratefulness, entitlement tantrums, and all round behaviour that is undeserving of one ep coming back let alone this many. Don't forget WOF and EOTW were released on the BBC i-tunes format first. I can't wait to see what the film cans look like and where they came from, let alone seeing the eps, lol. Looking forward too to hearing how these finds relate to the unnacounted-for Singapore eps... and more!

There is absolutely nothing in the article that states that missing episodes have been found or included in this “trove.” It sounds more like they have brought all the existing episodes of DW, and affiliated shows, under one tent for streaming. Other than that, nothing to see here, folks. Tom, it's OVER, mate. No more MEs. No more naysaying. That's ALL a thing if the PAST. The doubters are going to have to find somethig new to do in life now. To get a new job. They're sacked, fired. It's just a qu now of when RTD will announce this, not what he'll announce. As yet we don't know how many lost eps from other shows will be revealed later for BBC i-tunes...

But I do need to disagree with you on one thing, the Phil Morris thing was not just a mess of our making. He, himself fanned those flames by making some of those legendary comments, turning up at conventions and saying things and then having full online battles which I witnessed. So the blame is equally shared. Now, lets hope your optimism is correct.

Again you fall into the the same place where I can't work out if your hysteria is you trolling the whole community or if you really are this deluded....any statement from RTD, is not aimed at us. We are not his audience. It is at directing newer fans to engage with the past so they can more greatly understand whatever he has planned for the 60th. You can call us all naysayers but really all we want is proof before we celebrate. Do far all you've offered is a few badly worded interviews. Il do you a deal. If your right and all the mes are back il eat my Tom baker scarf on a live twitch feed for all to see. But what will you do when it launches and there are loads of episodes missing or unavailable? What will you do as a sorry or to show that you got carried away again. Or will you just wait for the next tidbit from Morris and then one day when an odd episode turns up declare victory. Russell statement about bringing the archive to life is almost certainly about black and white colouring for the future audiences and all the special areas and interviews and commentaries. With any luck the admins will either highly doctor this whole thread to put out the burning trash fire...or nuke the thread entirely

I've already put my deckchair out, and I'm going to enjoying relaxing and watching the horizon to see what the boat from Lagos has brought in.

I wouldn't get too excited about that boat (surely a ship?) coming in from Lagos
Nigeria Exports to United Kingdom Value Year Tobacco and manufactures tobacco substitutes $1.68M 2021 Plastics $1.15M 2021 Coffee, tea, mate and spices $659.28K 2021 Milling products, malt, starches, inlin, wheat gluten $658.97K 2021
Unless these film cans are made of gluten or various spices, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.

Does anybody genuinely think that, if all these missing episodes had been found, the BBC would release them all onto the iPlayer for free as the first port of call? Surely, they would monetize the daylights out of them first - individual releases to DVD, then BluRay, then the Collectors Edition Season boxsets, and then the standard edition. All of that would happen long before they'd be released to iPlayer surely.
Not to mention there'd be a big song and dance about the return, not just a badly worded statement about the entirety of classic Who in general that could mean a million different things.

The chances of a “haul” of DW MEs approaching EotW and WoF, or even exceeding that, are extremely small.
