Just recently ‘ads by Google’ have featured scantily clad or naked females. This is unacceptable on a site without warnings and controls about adult content.

Possibly google has surmised that that's what you are interested in. (And also, hopefully (for them), that you're an adult.) (I'm not even joking.)

It’s controlled by your WiFi, search history on whatever you’re using to browse. Nothing to do with the site here.

I use an ad blocker with Firefox, I never see any ads here or elsewhere

I've read elsewhere that some people are seeing some VERY political ads on youtube re:current news. And youtube isn't supposed to allow that type of ad.
