Just wondering if all rehearsal rooms, cupboards, stairwells, attic and basement has been thoroughly checked through on this premises?
There's always the possibility that actors or technical staff carried 16mm films in here under the arm, borrowed material etc. and forgot to take it home. Even William Russell's 'wheelbarrow-man' might have put in an appearance there, on his way home? Was anything ever stored there? Were films projected as part of the rehearsal process?

To some extent we’re a bit like a hamster on a wheel, running hard but getting nowhere. It’s deja vu all over again….what about Hong Kong, Singapore, Timbukthree…. It’s almost a decade since EotW and WoF were announced and I’ve previously speculated that PM may have first got into the store in Jos before Airlock and UM2 were recovered. I think his “quest” started about fifteen years ago and he must have visited a lot of places, even before Covid. Trust but verify has proven itself and he’s recovered at least as many non-DW MEs as DW, but how many places hasn’t he visited? Only he, and maybe some confidants, can answer that. It’s probably 99%+ certain that we’ve now got a complete record of where B&W DW was shown and, in the 21st century, not too difficult to visit them, particularly with authentication from Auntie. Jump on a plane for a few hundred pounds, a few times per year and you’re quickly ticking off places. I don’t think the Caribbean has been discussed much here, but they showed DW. One return flight and a few local hops and the whole area is done in about a week including time for some rum and reggae - I can’t prove it but expect PM was there years ago. I’m sure I’ve said it before but - although there’s Iran - I think collectors are now the best hope for reducing the number of MEs.

Watching Taskmaster this week and Sue Perkins made a comment about the last days of BBC Studios in London being an absolute free-for-all, people pilfering stuff left, right and centre (her "prize" for the prize task were signs stolen from the corridors). It's quite clear from some of the returns we've had already that people were able to abscond with film cans and that's just the ones we know about. It's quite possible there's quite a few more dotted about (or at least were) - so, yeah, collectors are our best bet. But also our worst fear, how many of those then get thrown out when the collector passes on?
