How much interest (if any) is there in poorish quality audio recordings of missing TV?
A friend has an audio cassette tape with the last 14 minutes of the Jackanory story "The Ogre Downstairs" from 1974. It's a mic in front of the TV recording with the electrical buzz that sometimes happened when doing that.

Quite a lot. It's good to have anything surviving from a ME. An audio is a good find.
And on something like Jackanory the audio is the most important part. I'd rather have audio without pictures, than pictures without audio.

An expert could probably clean this up better than I can. But here is an initial attempt at removing the buzz. Also we will do a better transfer from the tape. They were all transferred to digital to make them easy to preview years ago. We can try adjusting the audio head. ogre.mp3 (430.64 KB) Shame the audio couldn't have been keep of all the disposed episodes because, as you say, they stand up well without pictures. But that would have involved VT time.
