Came here expecting someone would of already posted about this but since they havnt I thought I'd start the thread. The guys at dalek 63 88 uploaded this video to YouTube youtu.be/icxltFNurNE?si=PH5MXMsikcDdCo-0Showing a set of sample clips that someone has produced using what I assume is telesnaps. It apparently doesn't use AI any way there's a patreon to try and get a whole episode done. Some of it is a little uncanny valley but I think it's a very promising start and frankly I find this style vastly better than the Web 3 animation. Anyway I thought there would be people here interested in the project and maybe even funding it. I have no personal link to the project nor do I know anyone involved just thought I'd share it with some like minded people and open to discuss it.

Gav Rymill has really done some amazing work for this so far. I am tempted to see what comes of it all. Looking forward to seeing it all.

Doing very short sequences probably isn’t too difficult, but a whole episode or complete story is another matter.

Gavin (Gav) Rymill is mainly known for his 3D modelling and digital illustrations for various Doctor Who publications. He's worked on 3D assets and models for the DVD and Blu-Ray range, working on the 3D TARDIS control rooms and disc elements for the Collection boxsets. He's one half of the Dalek6388 team, with the other being Jon Green.

I've seen this before somewhere. Was it already discussed in a different thread?

Excellent work. With just a little bit of improvement to bring down a slight uncanny valley in some of these, then they could perhaps be melded at the appropriate places into the Loose Cannon & BBC photo based reconstructions.
And if technology (here non-AI apparently) is evolving as fast as most say it is, whole scenes & episodes/stories may not be that far off...

AI generated or not I probably echoes most others in that whilst early efforts are encouraging the technology clearly has quite a way to go before results are viable. Nevertheless quality will obviously continue to improve and perhaps one day we really will be able to rewatch in acceptable quality the many shows and films lost to time. Certainly an intriguing prospect.
Anyway, on a more positive note, ‘Dalek 63.88’ is an excellent channel so if you’re on YouTube it’s well worth subscribing to!

That's the problem with people putting all this effort in now... within a few years it'll be so easy to just tell an AI to make a whole episode, just give it the original script and some reference photos and you'll get something far superior to messing around with telesnaps.

We’ve been discussing this for a little while and it certainly seems possible. However, there will surely have to be some “learning” and I’m unsure how long that will take.
