It's on Roobarbs and Mausoleum A good age, but still very sad; one of the truly great figures in TV history <Edit 1/11/06> the Beeb seem singularly slow at reporting his passing, and acknowleging his contribution to (their !) TV drama ... shame.

Unless I am very much mistaken, nothing was mentioned yesterday evening, on any television channel. This is the 'Father of Modern Television' drama for whom the television organizations (especially the BBC) should consider themselves indebted.

In the 1950s, he and Rudolph Cartier definitely pushed TV forward and into the modern age. Let's hope posterity remembers their contributions well.
