Thought I had this info somewhere, but I can't find it, now...
Anyone know, apart from the 1958, 1964 and 1972 editions of Christmas Night With The Stars (as I know these exist) what others, if any, survive in there entirety (or come to think of it, just as the odd insert)?
Many thanks!

Those are the only complete ones.
Clips that exist are as follows: 1962, excerpt from the Steptoe and Son insert (held as part of the Schools' programme "Looking at Television"); 1967, film sequences from the Steptoe and Son insert; 1969, Dad's Army insert (on VT), Monty Python insert (on VT - though this is the 'dirty fork' sketch, not a new item), Dick Emery insert (on film); 1970, sound recording of Dad's Army insert.

The Granada made segments of 1969 survive as possibly LWT segments do as well?
The LWT segments of 1970 survive (in B/W due to a union dispute)

Supposidly ITV is releasing a DVD this Christmas time, called something like "Christmas night with the stars" Which contains Christmas editions of ITV sitcoms from 60s/70s
it indeed will include 'the ghost of pickler's past' from 'Nearest & Dearest ' 1969 'the Dustbinmen Christmas edition' 1969

The Granada made segments of 1969 survive as possibly LWT segments do as well? The LWT segments of 1970 survive (in B/W due to a union dispute) Are you sure about that? I was led to believe that the only existing material from the ITV "All Star Comedy Carnival" series were the complete 1972 and 1973 editions and the 1969 Dustbinmen insert.

Segments Alan, I said segments, not the full show.
I was pretty sure "the ghost of pickler's past" still exists but have now seen it is not included on the disc. Maybe that is also missing unless somebody knows better

"The Ghost of Pickler's Past" was the 1969 Nearest & Dearest Christmas special and does exist in the archives. It also appears on Network's release of Nearest & Dearest series three.
In regards to the ITV All Star Comedy Carnival series, as Alan said, I was led to believe that the only complete episodes that survived were the 1972 and 1973 editions which are currently in the Thames archive, now owned by FremantleMedia. The 1969 Dustbinmen insert also turned up in the Granada archive. Apart from that I thought everything else had been junked.
